Your prayers have been answered… On Sunday 26 March, we will host another Sunday Roast! Get ready for tables full of honey glazed ham, Yorkshire puddings, roast chicken and potatoes and homemade gravy. A feast for any meat lover! Check the menu here.

Typically British

Where exactly does the concept of a Sunday roast come from? If you have ever been to England, you may already know; the English like to take their time to eat well when it comes to a Sunday roast. The table is full of all kinds of roasted meats. The traditional British roast consists of a large piece of roast meat paired with potatoes, vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and a good gravy. In our restaurant, we like to keep this classic composition alive!

Real comfort food

A roast used to be eaten mainly for lunch, but nowadays people also set the table for a Sunday Roast in the evening. As long as you have enough time to unwind at your leisure before going back to bed. Therefore, Sunday is an ideal day for this kind of comfort food. At Café Restaurant Nieges you can choose whether you will have the Sunday roast dishes for lunch or dinner, or you can pick a time somewhere in between.

Yorkshire puddings

Ham, roast chicken, potatoes and gravy will probably be familiar to you. But do you know what Yorkshire puddings are? A Yorkshire pudding is made with a kind of pancake batter, which is then baked in a greased muffin tin in the oven. Once out of the oven, the puddings are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfect for dipping in your gravy to clean off your plate!

Have you ever enjoyed a Sunday Roast yourself or is the concept new to you? Either way, we look forward to welcoming you on Sunday the 26th of March. Of course, we will light the fireplace for an extra cosy atmosphere. Don’t forget to make your reservation in time!
